Description by J.K. Flynn: Imagery in this dock-side scene uses the edge of a dock in the immediate foreground. This compositional devise works as a foil for the viewer to look directly through several vertical pilings across the water-way to a colorful house-boat topped by a brightly colored beach umbrella. A small row of sail-boats are tied-up next to tall, green reeds and grasses. This scene brings a more human element to the symmetrical, monochrome dock-buildings. All imagery is set beneath a blue sky with painterly wisps of clouds.
