These scarab souvenirs were brought back from the 1926 Grand Tour by Frederick C.J. Wiss. Purchased from D. Chellaram, Grand Continental Hotel, Cairo, Egypt. The hotel was one of Cairo's historic 19th century hotels. This is where they stayed while in Cairo. See article on it. D. Chellaram was founded in Cairo in 1860. It is still in business in Hong Kong. They deal in apparel, leather, corporate gifts and fashion accessories. Their website.

Dating from the XVIIIth - XIXth Dynasty 1500-1200 b.c.
Upon the base is a figure holding the Papyrus Sceptre, emblem of eternal Youth.
