Mrs. R. Sinclair Passes in Erie

Last Surviving Child of the Late Jacob Wiss Dies at 85

ERIE, Pa. — Mrs. Augusta Wiss Sinclair, widow of Robert Burns Sinclair, and daughter of the late Jacob Wiss, founder of J. Wiss & Sons Co., Newark, N.J. died here Sunday at Hamot Hospital. Mrs. Sinclair, who was 85, lived here over 40 years since coming from Newark with her husband.

Mr. Sinclair, who died five years ago, was active in YMCA affairs and had been secretary here for many years. The couple devoted most of their lives to social welfare work.

Mrs. Sinclair was the last survivor of the founder's four children. Her brothers were Frederick C. J. Wiss, president of the company, and Louis C. Wiss. Her sister was Mrs. Mary D. Ungrich of Newark and New York.

Services at Cemetery

Of the present management, Norman F. Wiss of Short Hills, Robert of South Orange, Jerome B. Wiss of Orange and Mrs. Fred Sinon are nephews and the niece of Mrs. Sinclair. Other nieces, children of Mrs Ungrich, are Mrs. Louis Wille of South Orange and Mrs. May Class and Mrs. William Hendrichs of New York.

There will be services tonight in Erie and tomorrow afternoon at 2 P.M. in the Mausoleum Chapel, Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. Rev. Charles Mead of First Presbyterian and Trinity Church of South Orange will officiate.
