WISS–Norman Frederick of Short Hills and Bay Head on Wednesday, September 15, 1954. Husband of Mildred S. Wiss, father of Kenneth B and Frederick D of Short Hills and Norman F. Wiss Jr. of Livingston, son of Charlotte and the late Frederick C.J. Wiss, brother of J. Robert Wiss of South Orange and Mrs. W. Denton Taylor of Short Hills.

Service CHrist Church, Short Hills, N.J., Saturday morning, September 18, at 11 o'clock.

Norman Wiss services set for tomorrow

Norman F. Wiss, 58, of 17 Oaklawn rd., Short Hills, executive vice-president, treasurer and director of J. Wiss and Sons Co., Newark cutlery manufacturers, will be interred tomorrow at Fairmount Cemetery, Newark.

Services will be held at 11 A.M. at Christ Church, Short Hills. Mr. Wiss died of a heart attack Wednesday night at his summer home at Bay Head.

A grandson of Jacob Wiss, the Swiss cutler and gunsmith who founded the Newark firm more than 100 years ago, Mr. Wiss was born in Newark and was graduated at Barringer High School and the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a lieutenant in the Army during World War I.

Mr. Wiss was a former vice-president of the New Jersey Manufacturers Association and a member of the State Unemployment Compensation Commission. He served on the National Labor Relations Board, the National Recovery Administration, the War Production Board, Millburn Township Draft Board and the Industrial Advisory Board. He was a director of the North Jersey Employers Association and was active in the Red Cross.

He was also a member of the executive committee of the Shears, Scissors and Medical Instrument Manufacturers Association, a former director of the United States Trust Co., and belonged to Damascus Commandery No. 5 Knights Templar, St. John's Lodge No. 1, A.F. and M., and Salaam Temple.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; his mother Mrs. Charlotte L. Wiss of Short Hills; three sons, Norman Jr. of Livingston, and Kenneth B. and Frederick D. of Short Hills; a brother, J. Robert Wiss of South Orange, firm president, and a sister, Mrs. W. Denton Taylor of Short Hills.
