CORBY, WILLIAM GRAFF - age 67, of Washington, D.C., died peacefully at his home in Knoxville, TN, on Sunday, November 2, 2014, with his youngest son at his side. William was born June 4, 1947, to Karl William Corby Jr. and Joan Wiss Corby. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, studying business. William found joy in the simple things and was exceedingly intelligent and intuitive. He loved music, nature, and spending time with loved ones. In addition to his parents, his brother, Karl Corby III, precedes him in death. William is survived by sons, Graff Creswell Corby and Jared Wiss Corby; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Zahnen Corby; two grandsons, Caden Zahnen Corby and Parker Justin Corby; one granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Ryan Wiss Corby; former wife and mother to his sons, Cathy McConkey Morrison; brother, Robert Wiss Corby; sister and brother-in-law, Constance and Hugh Tompkins; five nieces; two nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. A special thanks to lifelong family friend, W. Shepherdson Abell; doctors, Dr. Paul Williams (Rockville, MD), Dr. Steven B. Israel (Rockville, MD), Dr. Daniel M. Ibach (Knoxville, TN), Dr. Kelley Walker (Knoxville, TN); caregivers, Beth Albaneze (Rockville, MD), Sheri, Amanda and Stacy. To honor his wishes, there will be a private family graveside burial.
