Broad Street Jewelers Say Man Took Tray of Platinum Mountings

Wiss Sons, Inc., jewelers at 665 Broad street, reported to police that a sneak thief this afternoon stole 36 platinum ring mountings valued at $2,000. The man, described as weighing about 155 pounds 5 feet 8 inches in height, wearing tortoise shell glasses, raincoat and gray hat, asked a salesman to show him ring mountings.

The employee produced a display tray and as the visitor examined the rings the salesman turned around. When he again faced where the man had been standing, the police were advised, the visitor and rings had vanished.
