1949-xx-xx Eight Go Into 25 Year Club

Four J. Wiss & Sons, Co. employees with more than 50 years' service were feted last night along with 121 -year Club banquet at The Ivanhoe, Irvington.

Eight new members who reached a quarter century of Wiss employment were installed in the club and welcomed by the firm's president. J. Robert Wiss, and vice president and treasurer, Norman F. Wiss. They were given engraved watches.

The "grand oud men" of the list, each with 57 years' service, were honorary chairman-Charles Bischoff of Union and Fred Reise of Newark. They joined the company a few months apart in 1892. The Wiss company, cutlery manufacturer, was founded here in 1848.

Charles Lee of Newark and Fred Rauh Sr. of South Orange, with 51 years each, were the other more-than-50 years men present. A fifth employee with 51 years' service is George Beaudin, a salesman in Chicago.

The eight new members, bringing the total membership to 126, are Jessie Quad of West Orange and Ignats Bogdanoff, Joseph Fuss, Michele Vuocolo, Emil Jensen, Joseph Rettberg, Charles Chapman and Frank Iseman, all of Newark.
