J. Wiss & Sons Co., a manufacturer of shears and scissors, has entered into an agreement to purchase the land, buildings and certain equipment of the Boker Manufacturing Co. of Maplewood, it has been announced by Richard R. Wiss, president of the Newark based cutlery firm.

The Boker Co., established in 1837, is a subsidiary of The New Britain Machine Co., New Britain, Conn. The Boker property, adjacent to the Wiss plant at 228 Burnett Ave., Maplewood, occupies a 4.4-acre tract located at the corner of Burnett Avenue and Rutgers Street. The site include a 14,000 sq. ft. warehouse-office building and a 73,000 sq. ft. factory with a 1.4 acre parking facility on Rutgers Street.
