The engagement has been announced of Miss Jeremy Wiss, daughter of Mrs. Charles Roe Hardin, of Llewellyn Park, West Orange, N.J., and Mr. Jerome Baker Wiss, of Laguna Beach, Calif., to Robert Lauren Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. Lauren Howe Smith, of Bryn Mawr.
The marriage of Miss Jeremy Wiss, daughter of Mrs. Charles Roe Hardin, of Llewellyn Park, and Mr. Jerome Baker Wiss, of Laguna Beach, Calif., to Mr. Robert Lauren Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. Lauren Howe Smith, of Bryn Mawr, took place on Saturday afternoon in the Church of St. Andrew, South Orange, N.J., with the Rev. Ross Greer officiating.
Miss Judith Stanley, of Orange, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Carol Holmstrom, of Worcester, Mass.; Miss Mary Jane Fox, of Ridgewood, N.J.; Miss Dorothy Vance, of Washington, Pa.; Mrs. Lee Lyman Dewey Tuttle, Jr., of Houston, Tex., and Miss Carolyn Holmes. Miss Rebecca Lyford and Miss Margaret Drury, nieces of the bride were the flower girls.
Mr. Richard Smith was best man for his brother and the ushers were Mr. T. Weldon Monteith, Jr., Mr. George B. Lemmon, Mr. Robert J. Kirkpatrick, 3rd, Mr. William G. Warden, 3rd, Mr. Frank C. Royer, Jr., and Mr. Johns F. Brennan.
A reception at the Essex County Country Club followed the ceremony.
The couple will reside in Haverford on their return from a wedding trip to Nassau.
Mrs. Robert Lauren Smith, before her recent marriage was Miss Jeremy Wiss, daughter of Mrs. Charles Roe Hardin, of West Orange, N.J., and Mr. Jerome Baker Wiss, of South Laguna, Calif. After a wedding trip to Nassau, Mr. and Mrs. Smith will reside in Haverford.
