South Orange Girl Bride of Summit Man

Miss Ruth Charlotte Wiss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Robert Wiss of Grove road, South Orange, became the bride last night of Waldron M. Ward of Whittredge road, Summit. Rev. Walter O. Kinsolving, rector, officiated at Calvary Episcopal Church, Summit. The reception was held at Baltusrol Golf Club.

Mrs. Carl Triest of Great Neck, L.I., was matron of honor and Miss Nancy Lees of East Orange was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Joan Wiss, sister of the bride, Miss Ailene Ward, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Robert Elliott Cole, the former Miss Helen Reed of Newark, the Misses Catherine Wilkinson of Newark, Virginia Drake of Short Hills and Mildred Mennen of South Orange.

John S. Ward was his brother's best man and ushers were Richard R. Wiss, brother of the bride. Robert A. Messier 2d of Rochester, Walter Taradash of Hillsdale, Eugene F. O'Connor 3rd of Garden City, L.I., Thomas R. Lincoln of Glen Ridge and Robert S. Dumper of Newark, all classmates of the bridegroom at Princeton. Philip Harlow and Austin B. McGregor of Newark and Martin Rittenhouse of Jenkintown, Pa.

The bride wore a white duchess satin gown of classical design trimmed with a yoke of Alençon lace. Her veil of illusion was held by a halo of Alençon lace and she carried white orchids and lilies of the valley. The attendants were attired alike in period gowns and ivory velvet with headdresses of ostrich feathers and velvet streamers. They carried Rubrum lilies and white bouvardia. Mrs. Wiss wore blue satin while Mrs. Ward's gown was blue and silver lamé. Both wore orchids.

The church was decorated with cibotium ferns, Easter lilies and candles, and the club was filled with ferns smilax and Fall flowers.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward will live in Orange after a wedding trip to Bermuda. The bride is a graduate of Dearborn Morgan School, Orange, and the Finch School of New York. Mr. Ward was graduated from Philips Academy at Andover and Princeton. He is a member of the Colonial Club at Princeton and the Princeton Club of New York.
