Teen Girl Killed In West

MADISON – A memorial service was held Monday afternoon at Christ Church, Short Hills, for Miss Cynthia Taylor, 17-year-old Madison High School senior who was killed Friday in an auto accident in Montana, while on a group tour of the West.

Cynthia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Taylor of 4 Harwood drive, was in the lead station wagon which was hit broadside by a trailer truck at Bowman's Corner, 40 miles southwest of Great Falls, Mont.

The tour group, traveling in four vehicles, was led by William C. Nunamacher, a teacher at Memorial High School in Cedar Grove, driver of the lead station wagon. The tour was an annual one led each summer by Mr. and Mrs. Nunamacher, taking a group of teen-agers to various sites throughout the country.

Cynthia attended last summer and "had such a good time she just couldn't contain herself in enthusiasm for this summer's," said her mother. Cynthia's two cousins, Peter and Catherine Merrigan from Vermont, were in another vehicle in the cavalcade.

Cynthia and her family moved to Madison six years ago from Short Hills. She was a member of the Madison High School chorus and the choir of Christ Church in Short Hills, and was a candy-striper at All Souls' Hospital. She was fond of horseback riding and participated in horse shows at the Woodland Stables in Green Village.

Besides her parents, she leaves a brother, Gordon Stewart, 15, at home, and a grandmother, Mrs. H.E. Bruce of Clearwater, Fla.
