1931-08-31 Wiss Sons to buy East Orange store property

Announcement has been made of the purchase by Wiss Sons Inc., jewelers, of the property at the northeast corner of Central avenue and Evergreen place, East Orange.

The Wiss concern has been at its present location, 665 Broad street, eighty-three years and has no present intention of erecting a new building on its East Orange property, it was stated today by Jerome Wiss.

The East Orange tract, which is near the new building of Altman & Co., is now occupied by two-family houses and the leases for the dwelling have been renewed. The property has a frontage of sixty feet in Central avenue and a depth of 130 feet in Evergreen place. There has been considerable real estate development in the section in recent years.

The land was sold previously by Linnett & Wolf of Newark to J. Raymond Kierstead, an accountant, of Kearny, who sold it to Wiss, Inc.
