To Have Eight Attendants at Marriage in South Orange

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J., Oct. 13 –Mr. and Mrs. J. Robert Wiss of this place have sent out invitations for the marriage of their daughter, Miss Joan Wiss, to Karl William Corby, son of Mrs. Calvert G. Bowie of Edson Lane, Rockville, Md. The wedding will take place in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion here the evening of Oct. 31.

Miss Wiss will have her sister, Mrs. Waldron M. Ward Jr. of Livingston, N.J., as matron of honor and Miss Margaret Wheaton of Maplewood, N.J., as maid of honor. The other attendants will be Mrs. Richard R. Wiss of East Orange, sister-in-law of the bride-elect; Mrs. Parker Schoefield of Cohasset, Mass.; the Misses Barbara Goldsmith of Maplewood, Jane Miller of Pelham, N.Y.; Minnie Wrightson of Orange and Nancy Wiss of Orange, a cousin of the bride-elect.

Charles Channing of Chevy Chase, Md., will be best man for Mr. Corby. A reception will be given at the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.

The prospective bride was graduated from Miss Beard's School, Orange, and Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, N.Y. Mr. Corby attended Cornell University.
