Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Wiss Taylor of 84 Farley road were held Monday afternoon at Smith and Smith Suburban, Springfield. The Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Cooper of Christ Church in Short Hills officiated.

Mrs. Taylor, widow of Dr. William Denton Taylor, died on January 10 at her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Newark, daughter of the late Frederick C.J. Wiss, founder of the Wiss Cutlery company in Newark, and the late Mrs. Charlotte Wiss. She was educated in the Newark public schools and was graduated from Barringer High School and Wellsley College in 1910, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa.

Mrs. Taylor served on the Board of Education for nine years in the 1930s and was vice president of the board for the last year of her term.

She was a past president of Neighborhood House, the Wellsley Club of New Jersey and the Garden Study Club of Short Hills and was serving as chairman of the fund drive the class of 1910 at Wellsley.

She also was a member of the ration board here during World War II, and was a member of the Baltusrol Golf Club, where she was a past chairman of the ladies golf committee; the Pinehurst, N.C., Golf Club, Twig Number 9 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, and Christ [remainder of article missing]
