Virginia (Drake) Wiss

MANTOLOKING, N.J. – Virginia (Drake) Wiss, 76, of Mantoloking died Sunday (Nov. 15, 1992) at her home.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Drake. Mrs. Wiss lived in Maplewood and Short Hills before retiring to Mantoloking in 1974.

She had been a summer resident of Bay Head since 1950.

Her husband, Richard R. Wiss, died before her.

Mrs. Wiss loved boating and was active in the Bay Head Yacht Club. She was a member of the Key Largo Angler's Club, Key Largo, Fla. She had been an active member of the Board of the Sarah Ward Nursery in Newark for approximately 40 years, and was a member of the Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo, Fla.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda W. O'Neil of Warrensburg, N.Y., and Gail W. Heyer of Bay Head; one brother, Elliot R. Drake of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; one son, R. Garin Wiss of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992, at the Bay Head Yacht Club, Bay Head.

There will be no calling hours.

The family suggests that instead of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, attention Darlene Walker, 7701, Burholme Ave., Philadelphia, Pa. 19111.
