Norman Wiss Takes UCC Oath

NEW UCC MAN

Norman F. Wiss of Newark was sworn in yesterday by Chancellor A. Dayton Oliphant as a member of the Unemployment Compensation Commission to succeed Charles Engelhard of Bernardsville. He was appointed last December by former Governor Walter E. Edge.

Following the ceremony the chancellor and members of the commission were guests at a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Mary G. Roebling, a member of the commission.

In addition to the chancellor, the new member of the commission and the hostess, those present were Commissioners Ernest Eger of Atlantic City, John J. Toohey of Jersey City, J. Albert Homan, Trenton; A. Crew Schielke, Paterson; Mayor Vincent J. Murphy, Newark; former Governor Harold G. Hoffman, executive director; Frank T. Judge, director of the division of unemployment compensation; Russell J. Eldridge, director, state employment division; Charles A. Malloy, chief counsel, and William S. Conklin, secretary of the commission.
